Barry Katz, CGP, LEED AP is one of Connecticut’s leading proponents of sustainability and green building. In addition to green design-build services offered through Barry Katz Homebuilding, Barry’s newest venture, Greenworks Consulting now offers sustainability consulting services to commercial, corporate, and residential clients. Barry is the recipient of the 2007 HOBI Award for Best Green House from the Connecticut Association of Homebuilders.
Barry’s speaking engagements have taken him as far afield as San Diego for Reinvention 2006, sponsored by Residential Architect magazine, and to the Boston Society of Architects Residential Design Conference where he offers a green building workshop for architects and building professionals (2007, 2008, & 2009, upcoming).
Barry Katz is a former chairman of the Westport, CT Architectural Review Board. He is a part-time painter and an amateur pianist. His published writings have included newspaper columns on home improvement, and magazine articles about green building, architecture and the arts. He is currently at work on a book, Practical Green Remodeling: Down-to-Earth Solutions for Every Day Homes, due out from Taunton Press in early 2010.
